The Departments settings in AssetIT allow users to create and manage departments based on their organizational preferences. This feature provides flexibility in structuring asset management according to the company's internal hierarchy.
Creating a new department
There are two ways to create departments:

One by one — Click + Department, fill in the details, and click Submit.

Bulk import — From the + Department dropdown, select Import Departments to import multiple departments at once.
Editing and deleting departments
Edit a department
In the Actions column, click the Edit button to modify a department's details.
Delete a single location
In the Actions column, click More Options, then select Delete.
Delete in bulk

Select the departments you want to delete.

From the Bulk Action menu, click Delete.

You are taken to the Confirm Bulk Delete Departments page.

Review the departments that will be deleted, then click Delete.
Note: Items that are in use will be automatically disabled and cannot be deleted.
Exporting departments

Departments can be exported for record-keeping or data migration.

Click the export button to download the data in CSV or PDF format.
