Book Assets in a Jira issue

Apart from the in-app booking system, AssetIT also allows users to book resources directly in a Jira issue. This feature enables you to seamlessly allocate and manage resources without leaving your workflow environment.

Prerequisites

Ensure that your Jira project is linked with AssetIT. Refer to the Link Asset to a Jira Issue Guide for detailed instructions on how to establish this link.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Access the Jira Issue

Navigate to the specific Jira issue where you need to book an asset.

2. Initiate Asset Booking

Click on “Open Asset Booking” within the issue. This action will lead you to the Booking Form.

3. Complete the Booking Form

  • Search for the Asset: Enter the name or type of the asset you want to reserve in the search field.

  • Set the Reservation Dates: Choose the start date when you will begin using the asset and the return date. Or, click on “Indefinite return” if the return date is not known.

  • Add a Note: Optionally, you can add a note to your reservation for additional details or special instructions.

4. Submit the Reservation

After filling out the booking form with the necessary details, click “Submit” to finalize your booking.

Admin Actions

Approve or Decline Reservations: Admins have the ability to check out assets or decline reservations directly within the Jira issue, facilitating immediate response to asset requests.

Multiple Bookings

You can make multiple asset bookings within a single Jira issue, enabling efficient management of various resources needed for your project.
