2.0.0-AC

We have some exciting news to share with our Routemap users in this version update. We're coming to Forge!

New feature

From version 2.0.0, Routemap for Jira Cloud has become a Forge app. With this, the app is now even more secure and scalable, extending the functionality of Atlassian products.

1. What is Forge?

Forge is Atlassian’s cloud platform designed for building apps. It allows developers to run their applications on infrastructure that Atlassian sets up, maintains, monitors, and scales automatically. The platform includes a wide range of tools to help extend the functionality of Atlassian products.

Although Forge apps are written in JavaScript, the execution environment differs in some ways from a typical Node.js setup. You can explore the details of the runtime reference.

2. Why adopt to Forge?

By building on Forge, Atlassian takes care of the infrastructure through its serverless platform. This enables us at DevSamurai to respond quickly to Routemap’s risks while ensuring compliance with their security, privacy, and transparency requirements.

Improvements

Apart from adopting to Forge, we also implemented changes and improved Routemap:

  • Fixed incorrect UI rendering for long date picker placeholders.

  • Removed future sprints from appearing in the "Closed Sprints" sort list.

  • Allowed date-restricted editors to drag empty containers.

Bug fixes

More importantly, we have fixed known bugs found in the app. We want to offer the best experience to our users possible:

  • Fixed incorrect arrow dependency position for bars when using horizontal layout in Issue Timeline Roadmap.

  • Fixed "Too Many Requests (429)" error when loading a large number of issues from the backlog.

  • Fixed issue where sprint duration resets to “Custom” after sprint creation.

  • Fixed incorrect Kanban column order when a new column is created while column sorting is enabled.

  • Fixed issue preventing non-admin users from creating sprints and versions on Sprint Kanban and Release Kanban boards without version/sprint support.

  • Fixed sorting not working in Sprint Kanban after editing a sprint’s date.

  • Fixed Date Ruler not updating when changing the start date of the week.

  • Fixed bar progress not updating in Bar Details when switching between bars.

  • Fixed container title shifting to the right of the Container Header while dragging in Issue Timeline Roadmap.
