This is the homepage upon clicking the ProductGo button on the left side.

The icon next to the Fullscreen icon is to enable one of the portions of the project. It can be either a story map or a road map. Now, we are looking at the second portion which is the “Roadmap“.

When the roadmap is highlighted in the above horizontal menu, the Roadmap of the project is displayed.

What is a Roadmap?

A project roadmap is a planning tool that project managers use to visualize project goals, activities, and assignments on a timeline — typically with fixed start and end dates.

A roadmap is displayed according to 2 options.

  1. Milestones achieved as per the Releases or Sprints.

2. Milestones achieved as per the “Goal/Epic/Story/Sub-task“.

Milestones:

A roadmap milestone is a date signaling an event or deadline that the product manager wants the team to be aware of. These milestones might relate directly to the product's progress—such as a release date. They might also represent a date that the team needs to keep in mind as they work on the product.

How to create a milestone?

There are 2 ways of creating a milestone.

  1. Click on the chart of a roadmap on the right side as it displays a diamond sign. The diamond sign is for a milestone. Click on the diamond icon to open the dialogue editor for the milestone creation.

2. Click on the “+“ icon displayed in front of milestones.

Once + is clicked, an editor dialogue is opened to create a new milestone. Now, add details for creating a new milestone. Details required are:

  • Name of the milestone

  • Start date for the milestone

  • End date for the milestone

  • Color for the signal bar on the chart

To look for the details of a Goal, users can click on the Goal name highlighted under the milestones keyword.

To look for the details of an epic, click on the epic ID shown under the Goal.

To look for the details of a user story, click on the user story ID under an epic.

On the left side of the Roadmap is a table displaying the details for milestones, goals, releases, Epics, user stories & tasks. The right side of the roadmap is the chart that shows the signal bars for a milestone time frame from the start date to the end date.

The left side of a roadmap has a filter to be changed as required either as a release or a goal.

The goal shows the status of the goal with the name.

The epic shows the status of the epic & the assignee.

The user story shows the status of the user story & the assignee.

Users can update a timeline from the chart on the roadmap by right click. A small popup opens for updating the timeline of milestones.

Next is the dependency portion of a roadmap. Dependencies of milestones are also displayed on the chart.

A dependency is anything that a product, part of a product, project, user, partner, or staff member relies on. Dependencies allow you to link your items by date and visualize that connection on your roadmaps

By clicking on the dependency line, it shows the details of the dependency.

The predecessor is the first task; it controls the start or end date for all related successor tasks. The successor, by contrast, is the task whose start or end date is controlled by the predecessor. A dependency is a relationship between predecessor and successor tasks.

Users can unlink both tasks dependency by clicking on the unlink icon on the dependency details popup.

There are a few filters for the chart to be displayed as per the day & months (quarters or weeks). It can be done by the right bottom filter on the chart.
