Working with a Lead
When you open a Lead, you are working with it as a :SalesForge_Lead: SalesForge Lead work item in Jira. This view allows you to track all relevant details, communications, and activities related to a specific Lead.
To open a Lead, double-click on the Lead name or the work item key on the Leads board.

Inside a Lead, you can:
1. View and Update Lead Stage
At the top of the Lead page, you’ll find the Lead Stage panel. This shows the Lead’s progress through your sales workflow.
By default, SalesForge includes four stages:
NEW – Lead has just been captured and awaits first contact.
ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT – Multiple contact attempts have been logged.
CONTACTED – Successful communication has occurred.
CLOSED – The lead has been qualified, disqualified, or converted to a Contact.

Each stage represents the status of the Lead. Update the Status field to move the Lead to the next stage.

Pro Tip:
SalesForge offers default Lead stages that track the progression of your leads through the sales process. However, you can customize these stages to better fit your specific sales workflow.

2. Manage Activity Feed
The Activity Feed displays all interactions and updates related to the Lead.
You can log new interactions by clicking
, or send emails directly to the lead using
.

Activity types include:
– Internal updates or comments related to the Lead’s progress.
– Records of meetings held with the client, including date, time, and key discussion points.
– Summaries of calls made to the client with outcomes or next steps.
– Emails sent via SalesForge will appear here if Visibility is enabled, allowing your team to track communication history.
All activities are displayed chronologically, creating a clear timeline of client engagement.
2.1. Add and Manage Activities
Click
to log a new interaction.Choose the activity type (e.g., Note, Meeting, or Phone Call).

Enter the relevant details, including date & time, meeting notes, or call summaries.
Click Save to finish.
Did you know?
When you add a Note to a Lead activity log in SalesForge, it will be automatically synced to the Comments section of the corresponding Jira work item.
2.2. Send Emails
You can also send an email to a Lead directly from the Lead Detail page.
You must enable Email Integration to send emails directly from SalesForge.

To send an email directly from inside the Lead view:
Click on
to open the email composer.Review and fill out the email details:
From: Choose your email address (if multiple email accounts are linked).
To: The recipient's email address (this will automatically populate from the Lead’s details).
Subject: Enter the subject of the email.
Message: Compose your email in the message box using the available formatting options.

Visibility Option: SalesForge will automatically log your email as an activity in the activity feed if the Visibility option is enabled. This also means that all team members working with the Lead can see the email communication and related details in the Activity Feed.

4. View and Update Lead Details
The panel on the right-hand side displays all key information about the Lead. This information is pulled from the columns in the Lead board. If you hide or show columns in the board view, those changes will be reflected here in the Lead details.

To update any information, simply click on the data you want to edit (e.g., click the Company field to change the organization name). After making the necessary edits, press Enter or Tab to save the changes.
