Space resource

Notes

  • Space resources can be reused across PlanCore projects when defining project cost or billing settings.

  • Only users with the appropriate PlanCore admin permissions should configure, update, or delete space resource rates.

  • Use effective dates to control when a space resource rate becomes active and when it should stop being applied.

In PlanCore, a Space resource defines the rate information for a resource used in project planning and cost tracking. It helps teams apply consistent resource costs across projects and keep rate changes traceable over time.

Creating a Space Resource

  1. Navigate to Settings from the left sidebar.

  2. Open the Rate and Cost or resource rate configuration area in PlanCore.

  3. Go to the Space Resource tab.

  4. Click Add rate in the upper-right corner.

  5. Fill in the fields in the pop-up or creation form:

    • Space: Choose the Jira project to apply this cost rate.

    • Resource: Add a member who is applicable for this space resource rate.

    • Cost rate: Enter the numerical value used for the space resource cost.

    • Billing rate: Enter the numerical value used for the space resource external rate charged to customers.

    • Currency: Select the currency for the rate, such as USD, EUR, or SGD. If the required currency is not available, add it in the currency or fields data settings first.

  1. Review the information to make sure the rate, currency, and effective dates are correct.

  2. Click Save to create the new space resource.

Editing a Space Resource

To edit an existing space resource, follow these steps:

  1. From the Space Resource page, locate the space resource you want to update.

  2. Click the space resource row or use the edit action at the end of the row.

  3. In the pop-up window or edit form, make the necessary changes to the fields:

    • Space: Change the Jira project used in this space resource rate.

    • Resource: Change the applicable member for this space resource rate.

    • Cost rate: Adjust the rate if needed.

    • Billing rate: Adjust the rate if needed.

    • Currency: Choose a different currency if required.

  1. Click Save to update the space resource.

Deleting a Space Resource

To delete a space resource, follow these steps:

  1. From the Space Resource page, find the space resource you want to delete.

  2. Click the delete action at the end of the row.

  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Note: Be cautious when deleting space resources. Deleting a space resource may remove it from associated projects or prevent it from being used in future project cost calculations.
