Steps

What is a Step?

Steps break down each Goal into key activities or phases, forming the backbone of your story map. Each Step typically corresponds to an Epic in Jira and outlines the major milestones in the user journey.

How to create a Step?

To add a Step (Epic), go to the Steps section of your Story Map. Hover over the area, click the + button, then enter the Step name and select the project.

Each Step card displays:

You can quickly update the Status and Assignee by clicking the icons on the card.

To add Story points to an Epic, follow the instructions in Field settings.

Click the Epic issue key to open and edit the details for that Step or Epic.

Reordering Steps

Steps can be reordered by dragging them within the story map. When a Step is moved, all of its child Stories are moved along with it, so your workflow stays organized and consistent
