Test Steps

Test Steps are only applicable to Manual test cases.

Test Steps in AgileTest define the individual actions required to execute a manual test case. Each test step describes what needs to be done, the conditions or inputs involved, and the expected outcome of that action. By organizing manual test cases into a sequence of test steps, testers can execute them in a consistent and repeatable way.

You can find the test steps associated with a Manual test case in the Details tab of the test case.

Each test step in a manual test case is made up of the following components:

  • Action (Required)
Describes the specific action the tester needs to perform. This should be clear and precise so the tester knows exactly what to do.

  • Sample Data (Optional)
Provides example input or test data to be used when performing the action. This helps ensure consistency but is not mandatory for every step.

  • Expected Result (Required)
Defines the outcome that should occur after the action is performed. This allows the tester to verify whether the step passes or fails.
